Park Güell by Gaudí (April, 2016)

Wonderful Barcelona views can be enjoyed from Park Güell Central Square, but the most amazing details of this Park are located on the waving bench. Gaudí invented a technic called "trencadís" which means "to break up" ceramics, tiles, wine bottles, coffee cups and so on. The architecture is beautiful here but also useful and organic. Visiting the Park you'll feel surrounded by Gaudí's inspiration, which was the magnificent nature and its complexity.

Visiting Park Güell with Thomas family from Melbourne. Thanks for coming to Barcelona from the other side of the world! (photo taken last December 28th, 2014)

Park Güell project, located in Barcelona western mountains, had been started in 1900 as a private city-garden community for wealthy Catalan families.

Antoni Gaudí & his patron Mr Güell, had been always thinking in the future. Maybe too much, maybe 100 years over his time, because unfortunately, nobody wanted to live so far away from city center last century. Not everybody owned a car in 1900, only the richest.

It must be hard to reach the Park. Provably that was the reason why Park Güell project failed in 1914. Park Güell is the Story of a failed project.
